DORSET Police are urging people who live in rural or hard to find locations that emergency services use What 3 Words to locate you.
When dialling 999 people should give the call operator their three words so that the appropriate services can find you as quick as possible.
The app ‘What 3 Words’ has divided the world into 3m squares and given each square a unique combination of three words.
The words are easy to say and share and are as accurate as GPS coordinates. The app is perfect for those in rural locations that are hard to describe or address to a call operator.
It is available for Apple and Android and can be downloaded in the App Store or Google Play.
