Two separate groups of people were rescued after being cut off by the tide.
They were stranded to the east of Charmouth and had to be plucked to safety by coastguards and a lifeboat.
Rescuers were alerted at just before 7pm on Easter Saturday.
A spokesman for Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Team said: "We were tasked, alongside our colleagues from Lyme Regis Lifeboat to reports of three persons cut off by the tide to the east of Charmouth.
"The lifeboat put a crewman ashore and escorted the group to safety at Charmouth.
"A further group of two people were also identified as being cut off. They were recovered to the lifeboat and returned to Charmouth. Both parties were given safety advice.
With all persons safe and well, all the search and rescue units returned to base."
The spokesman added: "Visiting the coast can be great fun, from cliff walking, swimming or just relaxing at the beach. To get the most out of your trip, have fun, and stay safe, make sure you check the weather and tides before heading out, wear appropriate footwear and clothing for your activity, know the sea conditions and stick to coastal paths. Also, make sure you tell someone where you are going and when you will be back."
