BIKERS in Dorset are being warned to ensure they choose the correct helmet for when they hit the roads this spring.
Fire chiefs urge that residents with motorcycles pick the right headgear for their needs, budget and safety.
A spokesperson for the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service (DWFRS) said: “Choose the right helmet for your needs, budget and safety. Buy new, from a reputable retailer, and take a look at the Department for Transport SHARP helmet safety scheme website for help and advice.”
DWFRS state that motorcyclists should buy a new helmet every few years or after any impact.
They also say that people should make sure they purchase their headgear from a legal and reputable retailer.
