A REVAMP has been approved for the service station and shop at Winterbourne Abbas.
The approved changes will see the forecourt roof raised from 4.7 to 5.9 metres above the forecourt level, although in all other respects remains similar to the existing structure.
Alterations, including an extension, have also been agreed to the sales building with new underground fuel tanks, pipework and other equipment being added at the site.
Neither the parish council nor the ward councillor, Cllr Roland Tarr, made any comment on the changes and there were no public comments on the planning application to Dorset Council.
The garage is within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the village conservation area but planning officers deciding that the principal change, of raising the roof height, would not have a detrimental effect on either, or neighbours.
