There is still time to enter a writing competition connected to a festival celebrating of books.
The 2022 Hall & Woodhouse Biannual Writing Prize, part of Dorchester Literary Festival, is inviting entries until March 15.
Anyone who lives in or has a strong connection with the West Country and has been published within three years of the submission date either by a local publisher or self-published, can send in their entry.
All types of literature are eligible except poetry and books written for children.
A long-list of successful entries will be issued in May, followed by a short-list to be judged by a leading publisher and literary agent.
The winner of the £1,000 Hall & Woodhouse prize for 2022 will be announced at an award ceremony in July, hosted by a leading local author.
Entries should be submitted as a conventional book. Entries in digital or electronic form, and unpublished manuscripts, are not eligible.
Entries should be sent by post to: DLF Writing Prize, 9 Kempston Road, Weymouth DT4 8XB.
All eligible entries received within those dates will be acknowledged by email. Entries will not be returned and entered into a prize draw in aid of a local charity.
