THE Friends of Bridport Millennium Green have been busy planning their spring and summer programme of events.
The first event is a plant/garden fair at the Green on Saturday, April 23, 9.30am-1pm, where there will be lots of things to get your garden off to a good start for the season. There will also be other charity stalls – if you would like a stall for £5 contact Sandra Brown on 01308 423078.
The group will also be at the Charter & Community Fair on Saturday, May 14 and will have a raffle to win a hamper of local goodies.
On Sunday, June 5 they will be holding a Platinum Picnic in the Park to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee. There will be music with local bands from 2pm-4.30pm and cakes on sale. The event is free, but donations would be appreciated. All events will be held on the Green.
The Green surrounds the town council building at Mountfield and is run by a Trust for the people of Bridport, and is available for use at all times. The gardens are mainly tended by volunteers. There is also a 10-acre woodland on Coneygar Hill. Membership at £5 a year is encouraged, to keep the area in good repair.
