RE: White Tailed Eagles/Chris Loder MP
These birds are protected by law and his suggestion that they are unwelcome in Dorset threatens to give the green light to those who would wish them harm.
It is merely his opinion that these birds have no place here. He is wrong to presume to speak for more than a minority of the county’s electorate. His views might be supported by some farmers but these people are not representative of the majority of Dorset residents.
Aside from farming, tourism is also big business in Dorset and if he cannot see how the presence of these birds in Dorset might be of benefit then that is very sad indeed.
Moreover, at a time when so many people are motivated to protect our dwindling native flora and fauna, his attitudes seem particularly ill informed and out dated.
