RESIDENTS in Dorset are being urged to make the most of a community library service on offer.
The Home Library Service is provided by Dorset Council across the county and delivered by members of the Royal Voluntary Service.
Maria Jacobson from the Royal Voluntary Service said: “In the Bridport, Beaminster and Lyme Regis libraries we have teams of volunteers who choose and order books at the library and deliver them to people who can’t easily access it for a variety of reasons, e.g. health or mobility issues or being a carer.
“This service is available free to anyone who qualifies, in the towns and outlying villages, and books and talking books are delivered every 3 weeks. Due to Covid-19 we offered a limited non-contact doorstep delivery, but our volunteers are now able to enter people’s homes again if both parties are happy and comfortable doing so.”
