'HAIRY Biker' Dave Myers gave some Lyme Regis scallops the stamp of approval when he visited the resort.
The TV presenter and cook, best known for being one half of the Hairy Bikers duo, surprised Matt Yaxley, the owner of Herbies Fish and Chips near the Cobb when he joined the queue to get his lunch.
And the star congratulated the team at Herbies for the beautiful scallops he bought.
Mr Yaxley is a Hairy Bikers fan, having received their latest cookery book for Christmas.
He told Mr Myers he had cooked the Hairy Bikers' Sri Lankan fish curry with friends the previous evening.
Mr Myers revealed he had been staying nearby in a tree house with his wife and popped down to Lyme, a town he loves, to visit for the day.
He is no stranger to Lyme having worked on the TV drama Harbour Lights as a member of the production crew. The show was filmed locally in the late 1990s.
Harry May, who runs tripping boats out of Lyme, also saw Mr Myers in town and said he was delighted to see a TV star enjoying the area.
