A NEW appeal is being made to find more people to join Dorset’s fight against Covid-19 and flu.
Vaccinators are urgently needed to help to support our communities as part of the largest vaccination programme in history.
The renewed call comes as Dorset CCG continues to deliver many thousands of jabs each day, at the same time as moving at pace to ramp up the Covid-19 booster roll out, in line with new JCVI advice.
If you’re an experienced healthcare assistant, qualified healthcare professional, or in another similar role, you could be helping to protect local people of all ages from Covid-19 and flu.

The health and care system is looking for people who might have recently retired, previously worked as vaccinators, in healthcare or similar roles, or be looking to return after family or caring commitments.
You’ll have the chance to expand your skills and be part of an amazing team of professionals helping to save lives working in a wide range of settings across Dorset.
The winter vaccination programme includes:
- Covid-19 booster vaccinations
- Covid-19 vaccinations for 12-15-year-olds
- Flu vaccinations, including school aged children and young people
There are a number of opportunities available, flexible bank agreements (work when you wish) with a range of shifts to suit you or fixed term contracts for up to six months.
Dr Andy Rutland, Dorset GP and clinical lead for the Dorset Covid-19 vaccination programme, said:
“We urgently need you! We need your clinical skills to support our people and communities as part of the largest vaccination programme in the history of the NHS.
“Our vaccine teams and those across the NHS have been doing a superb job at delivering thousands of jabs every day for the last 12 months, at the same time as providing care for everyone who needs it.
