Remembrance Day was marked in Bridport with a ceremony at the war memorial this morning on the anniversary of the day the guns fell silent in the First World War.
A crowd which had gathered there fell silent at eleven o'clock as the war dead were remembered.
Local veterans, representatives of the Royal British Legion and the armed forces, residents, and dignitaries were in attendance.
Remembrance Day, or Armistice Day, on November 11 marks the armistice signed between the Allies of the First World War and Germany at Compiègne, France, in 1918, bringing the Great War to an end.
The main Remembrance services are this Sunday, November 14 and it will be the first time they will be held since 2019 due to the pandemic.
