BRIDPORT Golf Club's quartet of Gary Edwards, Dave Woodroffe, Mike Savage and Kevin Jones won the 2021 National Seniors Club Classic at Staverton Park, Daventry.
This prestigious competition played over regional qualifiers that led to the semi-finals and final in early October over two days.
In the semi-final against Pryor Hayes from Chester, Savage and Woodroffe had convincing wins that led to a slender team win.
In the final against the holders from Colchester played in wet conditions, all matches were close.
In the final match, club stalwart Savage fought back from to three down to halve the 18th for a crucial point that saw the team home.
Captain Woodroffe said his team look forward to defending the trophy in 2022.
