VOLUNTEERS are urgently needed to build a bonfire for an annual event.
The Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival is once again hosting its annual bonfire and fireworks event on Saturday, November 6 on Lyme Regis Front Beach, and organisers are asking members of the public to help them before, during and after it takes place.
Help is needed to build the bonfire in the hours leading up to the carnival, as well as to clear the beach the following morning. Charity collection bucket holders are also needed.
A spokesman for the Lyme Regis Regatta and Carnival said: "Help is needed building the bonfire between 9am and 12pm on the day of the event and clearing the beach from 8.30am on Sunday, November 7.
"As this is a free community funded event with donations encouraged, volunteer collectors are also urgently needed to stand with a collecting bucket.
"Finally, if you have any wood for the bonfire, pleased bring it to the beach on Saturday, November 6, between 9am and 12pm."
