MORE than 1.15 million Covid-19 jabs have been administered across Dorset to date.

A total of 1,158,375 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been given out across Dorset, according to the latest NHS data.

This incredible county-wide feat would have been impossible without all of the medical staff and volunteers working tirelessly on the vaccine roll-out.

Figures released by NHS England show a total of 591,613 vaccines have been administered across the Dorset Council area.

There have been 304,251 first doses given while 287,362 residents have received their second dose.

A total of 566,762 vaccines have been administered across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

There have been 294,041 first doses given across BCP, with 272,721 residents also receiving their second jab.

In their weekly statement, Public Health Dorset said: “With COVID-19 continuing to circulate in our communities, it's really important that anyone with symptoms gets tested and self-isolates whilst they wait for the result.

“Regular rapid testing when you haven't got symptoms is also key to stopping the spread as you can check you're not infectious and potentially passing the virus on to others. Anyone who hasn't yet had their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine can still book an appointment to get their jab.”

The total number of vaccinations administered in the New Forest is 278,440 - 143,026 first doses and 135,414 people have had a second jab.

There have been 78,384,657 vaccines administered in England to date - 8,356,805 of them have been given to patients in the South West.
