TIME is running out for business owners to sign up to this year's Fiver Fest.
The annual festival, which promotes spending money in local shops and business, will return to Bridport for two weeks on October 9, with a fortnight of special £5 offers from independent businesses in the town.
Business owners must sign up before midnight on September 30 to have an entry included in the Fiver Fest booklet.
This year's festival will be the fifth to take place in the town and organisers Totally Locally Bridport are encouraging everyone to participate.
A spokesman said: "The Fiver Fest encourages people to think about how they spend their cash with a simple message: if everyone in Bridport and the surrounding villages spent £5 a week with a local business instead of online or in a big supermarket, we could add an extra £2.6m to Bridport's local economy."
Antonia Squire, co-founder of Totally Locally Bridport and owner of The Bookshop on South Street added: "Any town that boasts a significant number of independently owned and operated shops and businesses has in their midst a group of passionate experts who love what they do and want to share that passion with others.
"Fiver Fest is a great way for people in the community to dip their toes into the very different experience of shopping with locals, taking the time to explore, chatting and seeing how shopping locally can work for them."
