FIGHT nights are returning to the Bridport area later this year for the first time since 2019.
Bridport Boxing Club will be hosting its first event since before the pandemic began. The launch is on Saturday, November 27 at Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, Burton Bradstock.
Head coach Alan Slaney will be out and about collecting sponsorships for the event on Friday, October 1 and Saturday, October 2.
Around 30 people train with the Bridport Boxing Club team at the Bridport Youth and Community Centre. The club relies on sponsorship to survive and typically sees pubs, shops and other local venues sponsor its events.
Mr Slaney said: "We're very excited, it's our first show since 2019, so it feels like we're starting all over again.
"We have boxers that coming to compete from all across the country. We're really looking forward to bringing boxing back to Bridport.
"The sponsorships keep the club alive, the club couldn't live without it - and through these sponsorships we keep a lot of young kids off the street."
There are still some tables left for the event, with ringside tables for 10 people going for £200 a table. To book a table, contact Alan Slaney on 01308 425108.
General tickets will be on sale from the Tourist Information Centre from Friday, October 1.
