THERE has been a new coronavirus-related death recorded at Dorset County Hospital.
Figures released by the NHS show a patient has died with coronavirus at Dorset County Hospital (DCH) in Dorchester on Saturday, September 18.
The figures provide the latest coronavirus-related deaths across the county leading up to Tuesday, September 21.
The last recorded Covid-19 death at DCH - prior to the update - was on Friday, September 10.
It brings the total number of coronavirus-related deaths at the site up to 118 since the start of the pandemic.
There has been a total of 770 Covid-19 death recorded at the University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) since the start of the pandemic.
The latest Covid-19 death recorded at the site was on Friday, September 17.
UHD incorporates the former Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals Trust, as well as Poole Hospital.
Elsewhere, Dorset Healthcare, the trust responsible for community hospitals and mental health care, has recorded 73 Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic, with the last recorded Covid-19 death at Dorset Healthcare Universities Trust was recorded on March 14.
A total of 160,374 deaths involving coronavirus have occurred in the UK since the pandemic began, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Figures from the ONS revealed Covid-19 was the third leading cause of death in England in August, up from the ninth leading cause in July.
