A 'CHARMING' one-man show is set to go ahead in a village on the outskirts of Bridport next month.
The 'legendary' head gardener of Gloucester manor house, Stanway House, will be recounting the tales of his career at the Shipton Gorge Village Hall on Thursday, October 21.
Herbert Pinnegar made his way from an orphaned boy to the head gardener of the house and will be sharing seeds of gardening wisdom along with his memories, including his friendship with the lady of the house Mrs Charteris over two separate shows in one day.
A spokesman for Artsreach, which is producing the show, described it as 'a delightful show – and not just for old codgers and plant lovers'.
Performances will take place at 2.30pm and 7.30pm for £10 for adults, £6 for under 18s and £25 for a family of four.
The price of admission includes afternoon tea at the afternoon performance and a glass of beer or wine at the evening performance.
