THE GROUP behind a campaign to bring a refugee family to Bridport are now requesting donations of clothes and toys.
The Bridport Refugee Support Campaign is asking any spare clothes and toys in preparing for when the family come to Bridport.
The group has been working to bring a refugee family to Bridport in recent years and members were expecting it would be people from Syria.
However, since the campaign began the Home Office resettlement scheme has been widened beyond Syrian refugees and in light of recent events, campaigners say there is a chance that the refugee family could be coming from Afghanistan.
The group has now acquired storage so is requesting donations of any unwanted clothes and toys to be taken to the Chapel in the Garden on East Street between 10am and 12pm on Saturdays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
