A WOMAN was taken to hospital after she suffered a fall while walking at a Dorset beauty spot.
Coastguard crews from Lyme Regis and West Bay were responded to reports of a woman with an ankle injury near Thorncombe Beacon, between Charmouth and Bridport, at 11.13am on Monday morning (September 6).
Following help from members of the public, the injured walker was taken to her car.
Coastguard crews checked over the injured walker before she was taken to hospital for further medical treatment.
A spokesman for Lyme Regis Coastguard said: “Lyme Regis Coastguard team was tasked, alongside our colleagues from West Bay, to help a female walker with an ankle injury near Thorncombe Beacon.
“The casualty had managed to reach her car after being assisted by passing members of the public.
“The coastguard teams carried out welfare checks before a friend of the casualty took her to hospital for further assessment.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.”
