WITH regard to the carnival torchlight procession being banned from crossing the A35 at the Crown roundabout, would it not be possible to divert through traffic through the town even for just an hour on a Sunday evening?
The police could manually control the traffic lights at the Town Hall keeping east-west and vice versa traffic at green for most of the time.
After all, there should be little or no traffic coming up from South Street with hundreds of people walking in the road in the opposite direction.
