THE RESULTS are in for a children's painting competition with cash prizes up for grabs.
With the Bridport Carnival cancelled for 2021, a series of events have taken place instead.
This included a carnival quiz, a bingo evening, a darts tournament and a children's painting competition.
The children were challenged to paint anything carnival, torchlight, firework or bonfire related on an A4 sheet on paper.
The competition was well supported especially by St Catherine's RC Primary School which took all the prizes for the top places. The school was awarded a £50 prize as a result of the competition winner coming from their school.
Henry Butcher placed first in the age six category, followed by Ophelia Elsemore-Bullock, whilst Betsy Blake came first in the age seven category, with Amelia Hodder taking second place.
In the new school term £50 will be awarded to St Catherine’s School, along with £20 to the winners and £10 to the runners up.
The paintings are currently being displayed outside of the Tourist Information Centre in Bucky Doo Square.
