A 12 YEAR-old girl who suffered a medical emergency on Charmouth Beach was rescued by coastguards and paramedic teams.
Coastguards teams from West Bay and Lyme Regis joined forces to come to the girl's aid yesterday after the call from Solent Coastguard HQ came in at around 2.58pm, West Bay Coastguard said.
She was stretchered by coastguards from the beach to the car park and the safety of a waiting ambulance.
"The Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Team and South Western Ambulance Service were already responding to the incident, but required further officers to assist with the casualty evacuation," a spokesman from West Bay Coastguard said.
"Officers quickly responded to the station in West Bay to gather their equipment and rescue vehicle then headed to the scene.
"On arrival, the casualty had already been packaged into the Lyme teams' rescue stretcher and the West Bay officers then assisted with transporting her back to the main car park."
The spokesman added: "We wish her a full and speedy recovery. Have a fantastic time at the coast this summer. But If you find yourself in difficulty, or if you see something that gives you cause for concern then do not hesitate - dial 999 and ask for the coastguard."
