FOUR new joint presidents have been appointed at a Bridport women's group.
The Inner Wheel of Bridport held its handover ceremony at the Ivy House. All four new joint presidents attended along with around six others and the group enjoyed tea and cake before an informal acknowledgement of the new roles.
The Inner Wheel was set up in 1923 by wives of Manchester Rotarians as a ladies’ club to run along Rotary lines. Its objectives are friendship, fostering international understanding and encouraging ideals of personal service.
The group took its first steps back to normality on Tuesday, July 27 when 24 members met at Hive Beach for the group's traditional annual picnic. The usual elaborate joint spread was replaced by people taking along their own picnics to reduce the risk of spreading Covid.
Next month will see the group's first official in-person meeting in nearly two years.
