ROADWORKS are currently being carried out on a west Dorset road, with a diversion route in place until next month.
Kingcombe Road in Toller Porcorum is closed from its junction with popes hill as Wessex Water carries out water mains 'resilience works'.
The road closure came into place on Monday, August 16 and is expected to continue until Friday, September 17.
Throughout the closure period, drivers are advised to take a 7.8 mile diversion route, which is currently signposted and will take approximately 16 minutes.
The route sees drivers turn left onto Lower Road and travel three miles along the A356 before returning to Kingcombe Road.
Alternatively, there are a number of shorter but unofficial routes that drivers can take to avoid the road closure. These are not suitable for HGVs and should be avoided if using larger machinery.
Anyone with any concerns or wish to discuss any issues regarding the roadworks can contact Dorset Council online via http://www.dorsetcouncil.gov.uk/roadworks/enquiries
