AS WE all take our cautious steps towards ‘freedom’, on behalf of Bridport Business Chamber members and all business-owners in the town, may I pay tribute to those unsung heroes and heroines - our street cleaners!
Through the last difficult year or more the team from Dorset Council have been there, often from the crack of dawn, cleaning our streets, emptying bins and making Bridport and West Bay a pleasant place to be.
Often they go beyond the call of duty by clearing rubbish that, for whatever reason, hasn’t gone into the bins.
And thank you, too, to the team from Bridport Town Council and the town’s Lengthsman scheme, which does so much to help the town’s calendar of events take place, make sure town council land and premises are spick and span and make spaces like the Millennium Green such a haven on hot summer days.
