A CHARITY shop will be adding a bridal room to 'make brides feel looked after and find their perfect dress'.
Scope Charity Shop on East Street, Bridport will be adding a bridal room to their store following a research project which found an increase in brides, grooms and guests buying their outfits from a charity shop over the past four years.
A lot of work went into creating the space, which is complete with a luxurious seating area for the mother of the bride, or whoever might accompany her, to sit and give their opinion on potential dresses.
Creating the bridal room was a community effort, with individuals, organisations and local business donating their time, along with products and materials.
Nicola Hooper, manager of Scope Bridport said: "I’ve always had a vision to have a really special room where our team can make brides feel looked after and help them find their perfect dress at an affordable price.
“Getting this special boutique area ready for brides to be and their mothers, was an epic, joint family and community effort and I can’t thank everyone enough for their kindness and hard work. Without their incredible support we wouldn’t have been able to create this unique space in the town."
The bridal room is appointment only - people should simply give their dress size to the team and will be able to choose from a wide range of pre-owned and brand new wedding dresses in that size, alongside shoes and accessories, hats for the mother of the bride and even prom dresses.
There will be an official opening reception from 6pm-8pm at the shop on Wednesday, August 11.
To make an appointment call Scope Bridport on 01308 421313.
