A SCULPTURE which was stolen from a memorial bench in a town's gardens has now been recovered.
The metal wire sculpture was based on a bench in memory of both Charles Hulse and Joan Hulse in Langmoor Gardens in Lyme Regis.
The sculpture, called The Reader by artist Victoria Westaway, was placed on the bench in 2019 as part of the Lyme Regis Sculpture Trail.
A police spokesman believes the sculpture was stolen sometime between Sunday, July 18 and Tuesday, July 20 and an investigation has been launched by police officers.
A spokesman for Bridport Police said: "Bridport Police are delighted to inform you that the metal wire sculpture, that was taken from a bench in the Langmoor Gardens in Lyme Regis has now been recovered."
