FOLK MUSIC returns to Lyme Regis this summer as an annual event is set to go ahead after last year's postponement.
The Lyme Folk Weekend returns this August after being cancelled last year as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The four-day festival will take place over the August bank holiday weekend, from Friday, August 27 until Monday, August 30.
Alongside the traditional free music shows across the Lyme Regis seafront, this year will see four headlining concerts at the Marine Theatre.
Friday will see the event kickstarted by the multi-instrumental collaboration, the Gigspanner Big Band. Saturday will see festival favourite the Fay Heild Band return to the Marine Theatre with their trademark storytelling via fiddle, concertina, guitar and banjo. On Sunday night, the festival’s patrons will be bringing their unique 'Ninebarrow & Friends' show to the festival for the third time before Merry Hill, described by organisers as 'one of the best live acts to hit the folk scene in years' round the weekend off on the Monday night.
The Lyme Regis Folk Weekend was rescheduled to the bank holiday weekend after it became clear a 2020 event would not be possible. The organisers were able to retain all four headliners for the weekend and those with tickets were able to keep them to use this year.
Tickets for the Marine Theatre shows, including a weekend pass for all four concerts, are available only from the Lyme Folk Weekend website at www.lymefolk.com
