RE: Traffic congestion I totally agree with Malcolm Heaver, the traffic congestion is putting people off coming to the town.
This matter has been discussed and alternatives looked at for the last 20 or more years – yet nothing of any consequence has happened; meanwhile the congestion gets worse.
Only one solution exists to considerably reduce traffic congestion in the town, that is once and for all and without further delay to close South Street from the junction with East and West Street to Gundry Lane to all but essential deliveries and emergency services.
The traffic lights at the Town Hall would be removed, the traffic would then flow through the town easily and with less pollution, not forgetting prospective shop users would have easy access to theshops in the closed off area i.e Town Hall to Gundry Lane.
