AN AIR ambulance was called after a teenager on an electric scooter was hit by a car today near Beaminster.
A critical care team from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance was called to the Beaminster area to help the rider of the electric scooter, a 13-year-old boy, who had suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The injury was not believed to have been life-threatening.
The A3066 Tunnel Road between Mosterton and Beaminster was temporarily closed for emergency services to attend the scene.
A spokeswoman from Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance said: "We attended an incident after reports a teenage male had been hit by a car in the Beaminster area today.
"Our critical care team assisted on scene, but did not convey the patient to hospital.
"The teenager was taken to hospital via an ambulance."
The teenager's condition is not known.
