READER Linda Osment was feline fine when she heard the good news that she and her beloved cat had won our Pet Idol competition.
Linda, 53, of Bridport, nominated Burmese cat Pebbles for the competition, which received a whopping 150 entries.
Linda, who works at a guest house in West Bay, said she was 'well pleased' when she heard the news that Pebbles had won her a £50 shopping voucher.
She said: "Pebbles is a complete Jekyll and Hyde character. If he had the chance he would catch whatever he can. He likes to rule the street outside and see off little dogs but he is afraid of the big dogs. He's a real character."
Pebbles was born in Axminster and is now 10. He came to live with Linda when she lived in Lyme Regis.
"He's a very soppy and talkative cat," Linda said.
The sometimes aloof moggy shows his softer side by enjoying a cuddle with Linda in bed at night.
She said: "He stays in every night, otherwise we'd end up having lots of trips to the vet's.
"But he's a delightful character, he talks to you all day. He is also the sweetest cuddly boy out, a very affectionate character."
