AN ANNUAL 'day of dance' will be taking place in Lyme Regis this weekend.
Lyme Morris will be holding their annual Day of Dance on Saturday, July 17.
The day will start with a parade at 11am before moving on to performances from Lyme Morris and eight other morris dance groups from all across the country, which will occur throughout the day.
Performances will take place throughout the town, in the high street, the Harbour Inn, the Swim, the Shelters and at Rock Point.
The event is hosted by Lyme Morris, representing Lyme Regis and Uplyme, who perform in their white and green livery and iconic top hats. They’re a traditional morris dancing side favouring the use of long sticks with high energy, high impact dances.
Admission is free on the day, but a voluntary donation for local charities are welcome.
There will also be informal dancing the following day along Marine Parade.
