THE RESULTS from the annual survey of patients on all aspects of their GP have been published.
The GP Patient Survey has revealed Dorset’s best and worst doctor’s surgeries in 2021, according to residents who rely on their services.
Residents were asked for their opinion on a variety of elements about their practice, from booking appointments, waiting times, out-of-hours services and the quality of care given.
Across Dorset surveys were handed out to patients and 10860 surveys were completed and returned.
Overall, practices in the Dorset CCG recorded an 88 per cent positive satisfaction rating, remaining at the same level as last year and five per cent above the national average.
Dr Forbes Watson, local Dorset GP and NHS Dorset CCG Chair, said: “This last year has been a such a difficult year for everyone, so it is great to see that overall trust and satisfaction with general practice in Dorset is above the national average in all areas of the survey, with 88% of patients describing their overall experience of their GP practice as good – well above the national average.
“We very much value feedback and we use feedback to see how we can continue to improve our services here in Dorset.
“We’d like to thank the public for their continued support for general practice, as well as everyone working in general practice who have risen brilliantly to the challenge. Thank you for everything you done.”
Lyme Bay Medical Practice, Corfe Castle Surgery and Dr Newman came out with the highest satisfaction rating with 99 per cent rating them as good or better for overall experience.
