A number of roadworks will be taking place across west Dorset as workers continue to keep the county’s roads in a good condition.
Roadworks will be carried out throughout the month as maintenance crews improve services in the area or fix roads.
- A section of Ridgeback Lane in Loscombe will be closed from Thursday, July 15 until Wednesday, July 21 for urgent drainage works. A 6.7 kilometre diversion route will be in place to avoid this closure.
- Works will be carried out between Round Hill Coppice in Melplash and Sunnyside Farm in Loscombe between Thursday, July 22 and Thursday, July 29. A closure will be in place whilst resurfacing works are carried out with a 8.1 kilometre diversion route in place.
- Cards Mill Lane in Whitchurch Canonicorum will be closed on Friday, July 9 whilst two new telegraph poles are installed in the highway. The closure notice will remain in force for five days but it is anticipated that the works will be completed within a day. A 8.9 kilometre diversion route will be in place on the day to avoid the closure.
- A section of Slape Hill in Waytown will be closed between 9.30am on Monday, July 12 and 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 13. The road will be closed between the junction at Pineapple Lane and the junction at Ash Lane. The closure will be in place to allow Openreach workers safe access to work on an underground structure and overhead cable in the highway to provide a customer connection and a 9.8 kilometre diversion route will be in place.
- A road closure will be in place on Grimstone Gate in Muckleford from Monday, July 12 until Tuesday, July 13 whilst Dorset Council carries out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.A 14.5 kilometre diversion route will be in place whilst the works are carried out.
- Spyway Road in Askerswell will be closed on Monday, July 12 whilst works are carried out on a sewer pipe to prevent collapse. There will be a 1.8 kilometre diversion route in place to avoid this closure. The works are expected to be completed in a day.
