A POPULAR fundraising event has been postponed after the delay of 'Freedom Day'.
Lyme Regis Football Club's Lyme Regis Sausage and Cider Festival has been postponed until the last week of July.
The event, which was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 3, will now be going ahead on Saturday, July 31.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that the final easing of lockdown restrictions would not take place on June 21 as initially hoped, but would be delayed for four weeks until Monday, July 19.
A spokesman for the football club said: "We are really sorry for any disappointment this may cause, but we feel this is the safest option for all our festival-goers and volunteers, and hopefully we can get together by the end of July without having to worry about so many restrictions."
