A TOTAL of 40 new coronavirus cases have been recorded across Dorset within the last 24-hour period, according to the latest statistics.
The latest Government figures show 40 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Wednesday, June 9, which is one more than yesterday's total of 39.
In the Dorset Council area, 15 new cases were reported. Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 12,029 cases confirmed across this area.
Over the latest rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council area, 34 new cases were reported, with a case rate of nine per 100,000 people.
There has been a total of 25 new cases recorded across the BCP Council, taking the total number of coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic to 25,616.
The rolling seven-day period for the BCP is 70 cases, with a case rate of 17.7 per 100,000 people.
The latest figures released on Sunday are a decrease on the coronavirus cases reported on Saturday, June 5 after 28 people tested positive for Covid-19.
During the course of the coronavirus pandemic, there have been 37,605 cases of Covid-19 confirmed across Dorset.
Elsewhere, the New Forest area recorded six new coronavirus cases. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic stands within the New Forest at 6,252.
The seven-day total for New Forest is 13, with a case rate of 7.2 per 100,000 people.
Across the UK, there has been a total of 7,540 - bringing the total to4,535,754 since the start of recorded figures back in March 2020.
