A MAN collapsed on a cliff during a coastal walk, sparking a call-out from emergency services.
Lyme Regis Coastguard were called at 5.45pm on Saturday, June 5 to assist an ambulance crew on the South West coast path at Ware Cliffs.
The man had walked from Branscombe with three colleagues and suddenly collapsed onto the ground, according to a coastguard spokesman.
He was treated at the scene and transported to a waiting ambulance, half a mile away as the ambulance was unable to access the immediate area.
The man was given a full welfare check before he was allowed to return to his holiday accommodation in Sidmouth in nearby Devon.
A spokesman for the coastguard added: "For emergencies on the sea, cliff, river, mud, harbour and beach call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
