A SWING at a children's play area has been destroyed after being set alight in a 'malicious act'.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning of Monday, May 31 at the West Play Area.
The swing was completely destroyed after being deliberately set alight.
A fire crew from Bridport Fire Station was called at 3am on Monday morning to the small fire at the play area
A spokesman for Bridport Fire Station said: "On arrival, the crew found one swing had been deliberately set alight.
"The crew extinguished the fire before returning to station.
"Unfortunately due the malicious act of someone, young children have one less swing to play on now."
