A HANDBAG has been stolen from inside a parked vehicle after thieves smashed a window.
Yesterday, a handbag was stolen from a vehicle parked at Langdon Woods, Chideock. Thieves smashed a window to get into the vehicle and stole the handbag from under a seat.
Police are warning motorists to be vigilant and to never leave valuables in a parked vehicle, even if they are hidden.
A spokesman for Bridport Police said: "There has been a theft of a handbag from a vehicle parked at Langdon Woods, Chideock.
"Between 3.30 and 4.30pm yesterday, thieves smashed a window to gain entry to a vehicle and stole the bag from under a seat.
"Please be advised not to leave any items of value inside a vehicle, even if hidden away. Be vigilant when parking in isolated areas and report any suspicious activity to us on 101, or 999 if you think a crime is in progress."
