A MASS litter pick is set to go ahead this weekend, with residents being encouraged to clean up the streets of Bridport.
This Sunday, May 30 will see the 'From Street to Sea' litter pick take place across the streets, rivers and beaches of Bridport.
The event, an initiative created by Mayor of Bridport, councillor Ian Bark, plans to tackle the litter that has accumulated across town.
In the build up to the event Cllr Bark has been recruiting residents to become Bridport Litter Free Champions - with the aim of achieving coverage for every street in town.
So far around 70 residents have signed up to be Litter Free Champions.
From Street to Sea will see the Litter Free Champions joined by kayakers, paddle boarders and the West Bay Beach Clean volunteers in an effort to pick up as much litter as possible.
Cllr Bark has asked that those participating in the clean bring the litter they collect on their street to Morrisons car park on West Bay Road between 11am and 11.30pm on Sunday.
If you would like to become a Litter Free Champion for your street or take part in the From Street to Sea mass litter pick email bridportlfs@icloud.com with your contact details to find out more.
