A MAN has been arrested in connection with an assault where the victim had his front tooth knocked out.
At approximately 8pm yesterday, the victim, a local man aged in his 20s, was walking along an alleyway at the rear of the bowling green near to Priory Lane, Bridport, when he was approached by a group of six men.
The victim spoke to the men and it is reported that he was then assaulted. His front tooth was knocked out and he sustained injuries to his hand.
A 24-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
Detective Constable Emma Swann, of Weymouth CID, said: "An investigation is underway into this incident to identify the other people involved. I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a group of men in the area at the relevant time to please contact Dorset Police."
