AN ART and music trail created by artists, filmmakers and more than 250 children will celebrate nature and wildlife.
A Bluebell Day Out was scheduled to take place this weekend but has been postponed due to the poor weather forecast.
The trail, set in west Dorset woodland, has been created by Sarah Butterworth, founder of Emerald Ant, a Bridport-based arts company working with communities and schools.
Sarah has brought together artists, musicians, filmmakers and children to lead families through a magical trail featuring huge puppets, structures and an immersive musical experience.
Children from Sticklands Church of England Primary School in Evershot and Greenfield Church of England Primary School in Maiden Newton have been creating art in workshops which will be showcased along the trail.
The event, which has been funded by Dorset Council and the Dorset Area of Natural Beauty, is both fun and educational and uses puppets and music to teach children about the importance of animals and plants.
Sarah is disappointed to have to postpone the event, which is sold out, but is looking forward to bringing children and their families together when the weather permits.
She said: "It is such a shame to have to postpone but it does give us some extra time to make sure the event is as good as it can be.
"It should be a great, intimate event with plenty of things for kids to do and enjoy. It will be a nice emergence from lockdown and has been great to support local artists and musicians, a lot of whom have been out of work for the last year.
"I hope we can put the event on soon."
