A SEASON of comedy events is coming to a west Dorset theatre featuring headliners including Ed Byrne.
The Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis is welcoming a host of comedians as part of a season of events starting this autumn. Household names including Mock The Week star Ed Byrne, Trigger Happy TV's Dom Jolly, 8 Out of 10 Cats writer Suzi Ruffell and BBC 4 radio writer Tez Ilyas will take to the stage to bring some laughter to audience members.
The Lyme Regis theatre has this week begun holding socially distanced events as lockdown restrictions ease and the show 'Oh Mary!', a play based on the life of Mary Bryant, will be performed this weekend.
Bec Applebee, playwright, said: "Mary Bryant’s story is one of incredible endurance and indomitable spirit. She is a young woman from Fowey who, as a convict, is sent away to the other side of the world to Botany Bay, Australia. She is at the heart of one of Maritime’s greatest escapes with her young family and a band of fellow prisoners."
