A LOCAL medical team will be spreading awareness of type 2 diabetes in the town centre next week.
To mark Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Week, the Jurassic Coast Primary Care Network’s Social Prescribing Team will be hosting an awareness event in Bucky Doo Square on Wednesday, May 12.
The event will run from 10am until 4pm.
There will be a host of people from dieticians to health coaches to help educate residents on their diabetes risk and what they can do about it. A representative from Live Well, Take Control - a virtual programme specifically designed to help people cut their risk of developing the disease - will also be in attendance on the day.
In addition to diabetes advice, the team will be giving out general tips on how to get healthier and connect with your local community.
For further information, contact the Social Prescribing Team on 01308 428943.
