FULL-BACK Cody Bowditch has left Lyme Regis, joint-boss Julien Simier confirmed.
Talented left-back Bowditch, who was briefly involved with Bridport this season, has decided to move to Uplyme.
His switch represents a drop down in standard, with Uplyme involved at Perry Street & District Division Two level.
Simier told the Bridport & Lyme Regis News: “He’s left to play with his friends.
“It’s a shame he’s left but I appreciate why he’s leaving. He’s always going to be welcome if he comes back.
“He wants to play with his friends, so you can’t stop a player doing that. You have to accept it.”
To help mitigate the loss of Bowditch, Lyme have been active in the player market.
Full-back Kieren Daniels and former Bridport centre-back Cameron Vere have already joined from Axminster, with potential to making their moves permanent next season.
But Lyme goalkeeper Chris Higgs (quad) will sit out the remainder of the season, with reserves' custodian Brett Garner stepping up as cover.
Seasiders’ midfielder Ben Turner is missing after becoming a father.
Lyme Reserves’ captain Alex Rowe, a leading figure at Davey Fort, has also elected not to play in the coronavirus-shortened mini season.
