Bridport residents who have not yet completed their census form are being reminded it is still not too late.

Census day may have taken place on Sunday March 21 – but there is still plenty of time to complete your census form either online or by completing a paper copy.

Census field officers in Bridport are calling on those households who have not yet returned their census forms. The officers will answer any questions you may have.

Residents are also encouraged to contact Bridport and District Citizens Advice for independent, confidential, and impartial help with completing your form.

Rovarn Wickremasinghe, chief officer of Bridport and District Citizens Advice, said: “The information gathered by the census helps our Local Citizens Advice service plan and know where the greatest need for advice might be.

“The information gathered can also be used to help charities like ours when we are fundraising.”

Households across Dorset along with the rest of England and Wales have all been asked to take part in Census 2021

The census is a ten-yearly survey that gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, with the exception of 1941.

This is the first run predominantly online, with households receiving a letter with a unique access code, allowing them to complete the questionnaire on their computers, phones or tablets.

Those residents who are unable to complete the census digitally will be supported by a phone helpline, a network of Census Support Centres or by ordering a paper census.
