A fundraising campaign to provide activities across local villages is less than £5,000 away from achieving its goal after an amazing response from the community.
The Prout Bridge Project has launched a Crowdfunder campaign to raise the funds to buy, kit out and staff an outreach vehicle which can provide activities and support within Beaminster and the surrounding villages.
The idea behind the campaign is to offer play and social reconnection for children and young people in the area, whilst also providing support and information with issues such as bullying, anxiety, low confidence, loneliness and isolation.
The Crowdfunder has been labelled an 'all or nothing' campaign - meaning that if the team is unable to reach their £20,000 target, they don't receive a penny of the funding and the money will be returned to each person who pledged a donation.
The campaign has currently raised more than £15,200, which means less than £4,800 is needed to achieve the goal.
A spokesman for the organisation said: “The words proud and humbled don’t quite cut it. The community has truly heard our call and helped us raise more than £14,000 in the first week of going live.
"Thank you so much to all of you for your generous support, please keep spreading the word and have an amazing weekend knowing that the Prout Bridge Project will be back out and about soon.”
