A LEADING developer and manager of retirement communities has launched a search for local charities to support in Bridport.
As construction nears completion at the new Gordon Court Retirement Living development on Flood Lane, McCarthy Stone is looking to pledge its support to a worthy neighbourhood project, charity, or one-off event within the community.
Local groups and charities are urged to get in touch as soon as possible by emailing requests to mccarthyandstone@mccann.com by Friday, May 28. Emails should be market with the subject - ‘Bridport Community Appeal’.
Nicki Beswarick, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy Stone Southern, said: “It is very important when creating a new development that we actively look to integrate into the local community.
"Our charity appeal in Bridport allows us to create important ties with local groups and neighbourhood projects, helping us all to build a positive legacy together. This is particularly important at a time when we begin to emerge from the restrictions that will have hampered charities’ efforts to raise much-needed funds.
"We encourage any local groups who are interested to get in touch now.”
The Bridport development will feature a collection of one and two-bedroom low- maintenance apartments for those aged 60 and over. Apartments will be available for off-plan sales in early 2022, with the first occupants expected to be welcomed in summer 2022.
