A RAILWAY service provider is increasing train services from tomorrow to help commuters as lockdown eases.
Longer trains and some additional train services are to be provided by Great Western Railway from Monday to help people returning to rail travel as part of the government’s lockdown easing roadmap to do so safely and with confidence.
GWR services will return to about 70% of pre-Covid levels, rising to around 90% in mid-May.
The service provider is planning timetable updates with services to rise to 90 per cent on May 16.
Mark Hopwood, managing director of GWR, said: "We will be strengthening our busiest services and more of our long-distance services will run with nine or 10 carriages.
"We're also planning further additional services in our summer timetable, which starts on May 16, which will bring us back to around 90 per cent of our usual timetable."
